Yes this little blog is sorely neglected, but then again, I'm not really a blogger, just a kleptomaniac of images that make me smile...
I escaped Winter and exchanged it for a desert wind, and I can even smell a lemon tree in the backyard.
This week was eclectic with an army ceremony, a party for a brand new Amitai , and a tango concert...
eclectic is good.

Folk Object is an "ongoing collection of ornament & utility" curated by graphic designer Clifton Burt. The wooden birds are by artist Sanna Annukka who's equally captivating screen prints and lithographs deserve a post of their own.

100 shades of gray

I read somewhere that the human eye is capable of recognizing around 100 different shades of gray... Here in Leipzig I think I've seen them all. In general I find that January is long cold and uncalled for, but as it will probably be around for a while I've been hoarding inspiration in colorful interiors

a few good flea market moments

Mauer Park is one of my favorite Berlin flea markets. you can buy anything from old GDR paraphernalia to half chewed gum. and the people watching is sublime.
Don't let the sunny images fool you though - that's long gone. now the days are over before they begin and the only consolation is Glühwein (mulled wine) at the christmas markets across town

Mad Men is fabulous for lots of obvious reasons but it just got that much better as I watched Betty Draper shoot her neighbor's birds with a BB gun

One too many gray days can leave you highly susceptible to a severe case of wanderlust... so looking at old travel photos is sort of like taking your vitamins
